Rylie’s Big Secret: Puppies Are on the Way!

Just when I thought I had successfully introduced Rylie and Shadow and settled everyone into their new positions, Rylie decided it was her turn to reveal a secret.
And this is not a small secret.
Rylie is expecting puppies!
Yes, you read that correctly. Puppies are on the way to Dazzling Scents HQ—and this news came as a complete surprise to all of us.
When Rylie and Shadow joined our family, Mom and Dad knew that life was going to become a little busier. What they did not know was that our family was about to grow by several more sets of paws!
Rylie had apparently packed one enormous surprise along with her things. She didn’t bring a suitcase, but she did bring puppies.
Mom and Dad are now learning everything they can about caring for an expectant mother and preparing a safe, comfortable place for Rylie and her babies. Rylie, meanwhile, is handling the whole situation with the quiet elegance of royalty. She rests when she wants, eats when she wants and gives us a look that clearly says, “Yes, I know something you don’t.”
Shadow appears to be processing the news in his own way. As for me, I have already begun preparing for my newest position: Uncle River.
This is a very important role. I will be responsible for supervising the nursery, inspecting all incoming puppy supplies and teaching the little ones the finer points of working at Dazzling Scents HQ.
Naturally, I will also teach them about porch security, delivery-driver surveillance and the importance of never allowing Mom to go anywhere alone.
We don’t know exactly what this adventure will bring, but we do know that our home is about to become much busier, much noisier and filled with an unbelievable amount of puppy cuteness.
